What other jobs have you had?

I’ve worked as a research assistant, molecular biologist, quality control chemist, door-to-door aluminium siding saleswoman, marketing manager, shop assistant and copywriter.

What have been the highlights of your career?

Being longlisted for the Miles Franklin literary award, and having my first book, Addition, become a best-seller in the UK.

Haven’t I seen you before?

For almost two years I had a weekly column in The Age. I have lectured at RMIT since 2007, given keynote speeches and workshops, and had numerous feature articles and reviews focussed on me and my work.
