Meet the Speaker

Where were you born?

I was raised on a farm near the town of Tammin, Western Australia. Population? 129 people. It used to be 130, but I don’t live there anymore.

What themes are recurring in your work?

I write about monsters and ghosts, not because I like to terrify my readers, but because it’s important for young readers to see heroes who overcome scary things! I like to write about courageous kids who face down the bad guys and win. Friendship and family, in all their forms, feature heavily in my stories.

Where have your works been published?

My novels have been published in Australia and New Zealand, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Norway and Saudi Arabia. Next year, I’ll be adding the USA, Canada and Denmark to that list when Nightmare League hits shelves.
