Jess is an author and illustrator from Melbourne. Drawing quite literally from a day job at Melbourne Museum, Jess loves sharing stories about nature and encouraging students to draw the world around them.

Where were you born?
I was born in Melbourne but grew up in Castlemaine, Central Victoria.
What other jobs have you had?
My day job is a graphic designer at Melbourne Museum.
What themes are recurring in your work?
Adventure, Friendship, Kindness, Belonging, Animals, Looking after the Natural World.
What have been the highlights of your career?
Lots! Especially having my books translated into different languages and shared around the world.
Where have your works been published?
Australia and New Zealand, The U.K, North America, Turkey, Germany, China and South Korea.
What are you passionate about?
I love telling stories about hidden worlds. Sometimes they’re magical (like a lost library full of dragons) and sometimes they’re from our world (like the deepest parts of our ocean). But even more than writing stories I’m passionate about sharing them.
