Workshop: Using real events to inspire engaging stories

This workshop guides students through the benefits of using real events as inspiration for creating fictional stories. Using examples from my own books, students will explore how to gather interesting ideas and events to draw on, how to turn a real event into a story idea, how to navigate the tricky parts of using real events, and more. Students will have the chance to develop their own story ideas based on real events.

Primary school (grades 4-6) and Secondary school (years 7-10)

45 minutes (Can be adapted to be shorter or longer)
