29 Things You Didn’t Know About Me
Meet the Speaker
Where were you born?
Northen NSW and grew up across South-East QLD, New South Wales and Victoria.
What themes are recurring in your work?
I am passionate about helping children and teenagers become their best selves through topics including connection, community, creativity, leadership, identity, self-expression and discovery, social concerns and environmental issues.
I also happen to love poetry, and it brings me joy to inspire younger generations to love the art form as much as I do.
What have been the highlights of your career?
I am fortunate to have had many highlights, including delivering thousands of workshops, performing and speaking at hundreds of events, and having my work shared on six continents and across over 150 countries to a quarter of the global population.
From community projects to Fortune 500s, I have worked with people of all ages, career statuses, and life circumstances and dedicated thousands of hours to causes I am passionate about through countless charities and nonprofits. I am grateful I can continue giving back through my organisations as well.
Although I have many incredible experiences speaking in front of A-list celebrities, global CEOs, multiple prime ministers, and even members of the Royal Family, my greatest joy is being able to chat with young people. I am inspired by the hopes, dreams and ideas of kids and teens, and having a positive impact on their journeys is a gift.
Haven’t I seen you before?
You may have seen me on regular ABC News Breakfast appearances, The Project, Q+A, RN Breakfast and Drive or other television and radio programs over the years. Perhaps at one of my events, or have we crossed paths? What are the chances - I knew you looked familiar! Just kidding, I can't see you, but I can see a nice little opportunity for us to work together in the not-so-distant future (how about that!).
