Write Your Way Towards Dream Jobs in Communications

by Andrea Rowe

Description

Every day, teenagers make important decisions that are relevant to their future. Those dreams and aspirations, in turn, don’t just depend on students’ talents, but they can be hugely influenced by knowledge sharing of others.

As someone who was ‘good at writing’ in school, I was urged to be a journalist, or an English teacher. But it wasn’t till I reached university that I discovered the scope of jobs out there for writers and natural communicators.

I’ve mentored countless young people starting out in their own communications careers and I have seen first hand that they’ve doubted directions until someone reassured them that building on experiences also builds on employable skills. I also know that student cannot be what they cannot see and I’m passionate about showing them how a writer succeeds in the working world.

I share insights into contemporary communications and writing positions, and how different roles can build your skills and create a contributing career. life. My aim is to inspire and encourage young people to explore the evolving careers which tap into their abilities to write and communicate.

My tailored talk and conversation starters cover my journey and observations from real-life experience, and learnings along the way.

I share insights into mentors, real life experiences, how to put yourself out there, where to learn as you grow and how to showcase your experiences to others.
