Wonderful Words – How to Make Your Sentences Sizzle and Your Story Sing.
by Emma Bowd
Description
Join author Emma Bowd, co-creator of the 2022 CBCA Early Childhood Notable Book, Wonderful Shoes (illustrated by Tania McCartney), for a fun-filled workshop about her favourite topic: wonderful words.
Emma will read her book and share how she turned an everyday idea into a stamp-stomping picture book story, by choosing wonderful words. You can then help Emma make a story extension sparkle and shine, with your own wonderful words to describe two new pairs of shoes. Or, try writing your own poem about a completely different topic, using some of the word tools you learn in the session.
This workshop is tailored for short-form narrative fiction writing and poetry writing.
