Within the walls, flowers grow

by Claire Saxby

Description

In this presentation, students will explore The Flower Garden, illustrated by Lucia Masciullo. They will meet some of the children and women interned in Singapore’s Changi Prison in WWII and learn how they spent their days. They will discover how creativity and resilience can thrive anywhere.

Topics Covered

In workshops, students will consider what they’d pack in their suitcases, write a two-words-per-line poem or create their own hexagon ‘flowers’.
