She covers the historical aspects of this time slip novel - Australia's federation and the fight for suffrage which she first encountered through her study of Constitutional Law at university. Kim then goes on to look at timeslip novels themselves, why they are the perfect vehicle to learn about the past, and the pitfalls of committing to an historical novel.
