‘The Red Bridge’ Collage Workshop
by Kylie Dunstan
Description
This workshop uses my picture book The Red Bridge as the basis for a discussion about writing and illustrating, followed by a hands on workshop where the class will recreate one of the pages from the book.
During an initial 15 minutes of mat time we read the book and discuss the story. Topics covered will be illustrating (and particularly how the illustrations for this book were achieved), different cultural experiences and friendship.
The children are then taken step by step through the process of recreating an illustration from ‘The Red Bridge’.
The workshop includes drawing, cutting colouring/painting.
