Description

In this workshop students will receive a map and walk through a mysterious abandoned house, having strange encounters and experimenting with different writing techniques in each room.

Drawing on lessons I learned writing my novel Iris and the Tiger, we’ll create plot ideas, characters and a magical world.

Topics Covered:

Strange houses, schools, hotels and other buildings in fantasy fiction
Perspective and point of view – what works best for your story
How to write vivid descriptions of places, mythical creatures and mysterious phenomenon
Developing and testing your main character

Primary students (Grades 4 - 6)

Requirements

Data projector. I will bring my presentation on USB. I will not require video, audio or internet connection.
