In this talk I share stories about my work and life. I talk about my characters – where they came from and how I developed and shaped their worlds. I discuss how I draw (sometimes) on real experiences when I’m stuck for an idea.

I encourage students to see that stories happen every day if they’re paying attention. It’s a matter of shaping their narratives so that they mean something to the reader.
