Even when we love poetry ourselves, teaching it as a literary genre or inspiring our students to write it can be a daunting prospect.
Poet Lia Hills has honed a professional development session to help with this.
The sessions will allow staff to become confident instructors of all facets of poetry.
This session would be an inspirational revision tool in Term 4, or a brilliant way to start the teaching year.

Lia tailors each individual session to suit your staff, students and school, and can accommodate differing session lengths.
Lia's sessions examine the purpose and practice of teaching poetry in schools.
Her unique skill puts you in the role of `student' in a creative writing class and explores how best to give feedback on student writing and nurture creativity.
Lia Hills is a poet, novelist and French translator, with publications including poetry collection the impossibility of flight and the novel The Beginner's Guide To Living. Lia has been involved for many years in bringing poetry to the wider community, through student workshops and her directorship of the poetry and art project, Moving Galleries.
