Look out - a storm is coming! (writing)

Storms are amazing. In this presentation, students will explore Storm, written by Claire Saxby and illustrated by Jess Racklyeft. This story is based on a summer storm at the beach and looks closely at how a storm is created, and how that storm affects animals on, above, beside the beach as well as those on a shallow reef. Students will also discover how climate change is affecting the ferocity and predictability of storms. 

In writing workshops, students will write their own storm poems or begin a guided writing exercise about how animals weather storms.
