Let’s Draw Animals!
by Remy Lai
Description
When I was a kid, I was very interested in animals. I’d read/watch anything about animals, from fiction to non-fiction. And because animals are so interconnected to us, through them, I learnt a lot about other issues in the world. For example, an interest in elephants might lead a child to be introduced to the issues of deforestation that destroy the elephants’ habitat.
In this presentation, I aim to spark the kids’ interests in animals and the issues they face in a kid-friendly way.
For this presentation, I will use two (out of three) books from my young reader graphic novel series Surviving the Wild.
Topics Covered
For Star the Elephant
* Elephants losing their homes due to deforestation
* What do elephants eat?
* Can elephants swim?
* What other animals might an elephant meet in their habitat?
* Draw-along of animals
