Comics are lof-fi, democratic and a little bit magic. They are particularly excellent for writing about the self. In this session, I go through the process of how to write a comic script. Students will create simple four-panel personal comics.

  • Introduction to comics and indie publishing
  • What if I can’t draw?
  • Visual verbal language - telling a story with words and pictures
  • My work writing comics for young people on mental health issues
  • How to have a daily drawing practice
  • Some practical exercises/prompts

Requirements

Data Projector, whiteboard.  I’ll have a powerpoint on a USB Students will require drawing materials and paper
