Inspired by Art

by Leanne Hall

Description

Using examples from my two novels Iris and the Tiger and The Gaps, I’ll explain how visual art inspires my writing.

Students will be led through a series of writing exercises that use my favourite paintings, photographs and sculptures for inspiration. These exercises will dip into world-building, plotting and character development.

Topics Covered:

  • How art inspires my fiction
  • How to develop an idea for a story
  • Using photographs to make fiction
  • How to develop a character
