Identity Journey
by Anton Clifford-Motopi
Description
Who am I? Where do I come from?
These are two big questions that Sam in ‘To and Fro,’ tries to answer on his journey of developing a black identity.
Like Sam, I have a Black African dad and white Australian mum. Growing up, as an adopted black kid with light skin, I struggled to know who I was and develop my black identity.
Using funny stories and photos from my childhood, I will share my identity journey with students.
Drawing on the themes in To and Fro, students will explore who they are and where they come from, and learn how to tell their identity journey in a voice and style that is their own.
