How to Illustrate a Picture Book

Illustrating a children’s book is a though job that requires few ... special powers! In this highly interactive session, Lucia talks about all the basic steps to create a picture book, from the manuscript to the final book. Topics include characters design, sketches and ideas, storyboard and the collaboration with the Publisher. With examples from her books and new sketches created in front of the students, Lucia encourages them to ask questions, be inquisitive, explore their abilities and how to use an image to tell a story. Depending on the age of the students and the duration of the session, Lucia invites the younger students to draw together in a step by step workshop.
