Greetings Grades 4, 5 and 6
by Elizabeth Honey
Description
Introduction to me and my books, for this age group: 45 & 47 Stella Street Fiddle-back * Don’t Pat the Wombat! What do you think, Feezal? Remote Man To the Boy in Berlin*
At this age a child’s developing writing and reading ability reflects their growing independence. I show how I work making the process clear and stressing creativity. My aim: to build confidence, help develop writing skills and encourage the keen drawers. I will suggest ideas to try in the classroom or at home.
Topics:
How I write. Building a simple plot. Using visual reference to develop a character. Researching a novel. Valuing constructive criticism. The development of picture book from idea to finished book. Writing tips. A drawing.
