Foreign Soil

This VCE session explores the research and writing of the author’s short fiction collection Foreign Soil. Schools can elect up to 5 stories from the book, and will study these stories with the author in detail, in addition to a general exploration of the themes and the writing techniques and processes. The session includes a 20 minute student question time.

Topics covered are the themes of Foreign Soil, research, historical context, the writing process, literary techniques, narrative voice and characterisation.
