Dare To Dream

by Demet Divaroren

Description

At high school, my friends called me “D for Demet.” That was my average grade. My teachers said that my literacy skills were weak and that I was a hesitant reader. The truth is, I didn’t believe in myself so nobody believed in me. At the end of year 10, an inspiring speech from the assistant principal made me realise that I could have the one thing I’d convinced myself I wasn’t good enough to achieve: success.

This talk is about overcoming self-doubt, uncovering our self-belief and following our dreams.

Topics:
  • Defining success
  • Controlling our thoughts – key to success
  • Identifying our strengths
  • Determination
