Creative Writing Workshop – Tools (not rules!)

by Courtney Collins

Description

What if everything you have ever learnt about writing is getting in the way of the story you want to tell?

Presented by author Courtney Collins, this workshop and presentation supports individuals and organisations to discover their unique story and find the best creative writing craft tools to tell it.

After eight years living and working in Arnhem Land and recently completing a PhD titled ‘Working Against Whiteness in Creative Literary Production,’ Courtney is passionate about more diverse stories being told.

If you are suss on the ‘heroic model’ and feel like it is time to imagine better possibilities for the world, then this workshop is for you.

The workshop draws on Courtney’s experience as an author, screenwriter, remote producer and podcast presenter.

In this workshop you will:

  • Connect with the story you want to tell
  • Learn how the ‘rules’ could be getting in your way
  • Learn perspectives from Western, Indigenous and Eastern Knowledge Systems
  • Learn creative writing craft tools better aligned with your values
