Description

As an author and illustrator I am uniquely qualified to explain the process of making a picture book from conception to completion. This is a workshop that can be done over one day or a short-term residency. These are the areas I cover: Studying picture books and graphic novels for readers of all ages (I will bring some samples and also work with what you have in your library). Finding the best way to tell a story for your audience through words and pictures. Studying language of picture books: less is more. Studying the role of illustration: style, technique, medium etc. Making a picture book: dummies, storyboards, publishing.
