An in-depth workshop, learning the basics of visual storytelling as it applies to comics. Using examples we break down a basic scene from script to rough layouts. With a focus on visual narrative this may also apply to english class as well as art class.
Topics covered:
- We learn that there is basically 3 types of shots, and how and when to use them
- The 2 important questions to ask when designing a scene.
- Learning how to draw “thumbnails” and roughs
- The importance of visual clarity… ‘show, don’t tell’

Duration
90 minutes and above, can be extended to half a day (variable to suit)
Requirements
Data Projector, laptop and whiteboard. I’ll bring the presentation on USB as a PDF Audience will need plenty of paper, pencils and erasers
