Topics covered:
  • Learn about citizen science and why scientists like me help protect the environment.
  • Explore successful citizen science projects that you can get involved in.
  • Demonstrate apps (eg. iNaturalist, Scistarter, Marine Debris Tracker, Whaleface) and have participants practice uploading observations or data.
  • Brainstorm a citizen science project relevant to your community and sketch out the goals, methods and tools required.

Laptop/PC to connect a PowerPoint presentation Author will bring USB stick, personal laptop. File in PC format. A microphone where there will be more than 50 students in a space.
