A Better Me: Alphabetter and Positive Values

by Maura Pierlot

Description

An interactive and hands-on workshop where students will explore and discuss who they are, their values, the traits that make them a good friend and community member, and positive identity.

Through whole group and small group discussions, simple drama activities and writing/drawing exercises, students will engage with selected vocabulary and questions in Alphabetter – A Better You and Me, From A to Z. They will be encouraged to reflect on their own values and traits, as well as those of their role models.

All activities and discussions will be tailored to the year level(s) in the participating groups.

This workshop serves as a stepping stone or introduction into further exploration of self-identity and values once students return to the classroom.

Schools/teachers are encouraged to select themes or specific words from Alphabetter prior to the workshop to ensure a targeted and relevant experience for the group.
