Ursula Dubosarsky wanted to be a writer from the age of six, and is now the author of over 40 books of fiction and non-fiction for children and young adults, which have won several national prizes, including the NSW, Victorian, South Australian and Queensland Premier’s Literary Awards. She and Andrew Joyner have now collaborated on three best-selling picture books The Terrible Plop, Too Many Elephants in This House and Tim and Ed. She lives in Sydney with her family.
All the students enjoyed Ursula’s visit immensely. She made the talk engaging, interactive and really related to the students on their level of understanding!
The presentation was wonderful. All students from Prep to Year 4 were very engaged and we have been getting lots of very positive feedback from the students. We are getting Andrew’s drawings professionally framed and I am sure the children will love them.
The presentation was incredible. Both Ursula and Andrew were very engaged with the audience which ranged from Prep to Grade 6. They were educational and entertaining and I would highly recommend them for any school looking for presenters for a very special literary event. Ursula spoke about the creative process in relation to writing and collaboration and Andrew, with input from the audience, created a very special story book for the school, showing the students how he could create a character from basic shapes.
Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to meet such inspirational people!
