Where were you born?

I was born and raised in America.

What other jobs have you had?

I am an Aboriginal Case Manager in Corrections and have held similar roles including a Youth Justice Worker, Aboriginal Intensive Family & Youth Case Worker and Youth AOD Worker.

Prior to working in social and community services, I worked in the music industry as a Tour Manager for Hip-Hop artists, and also managed entertainment tours for U.S. Military on deployment.

What themes are recurring in your work?

My work revolves around supporting communities and individuals with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, or who are otherwise disadvantaged including First Nations people and individuals who are in the justice system.

Creatively, other than my work as a children’s author, I have also produced puzzles, games and colouring books which all have a strong focus on appealing to young people of colour.

I am also passionate about serving the community through voluntary and fundraising efforts.

What have been the highlights of your career?

One of my greatest professional achievements is working for Hip-Hop moguls Jay-Z, Kanye West and others.  Personally, my biggest achievement is becoming a published author, having publishing six children’s books and two card games, and raising funds to build twelve water wells in developing countries.

Where have your works been published?

My works are published through EchoBooks publishing Company.

What are you passionate about?

Creating books and games for children of colour who can see themselves reflected in the characters in the books and games.

Haven’t I seen you before?

Maybe.  I’ve featured on ABC Digital, Al-Jazeera News, have been named in Rejuvenate’s 40 Under 40 and have appeared on various podcasts and online productions.
