Annie Woollard: A-Z of a Global Classroom

Session Info:

Global Citizenship is about inspiring and educating students to: THINK, FEEL & ACT.

Is Global Citizenship part of your whole school approach for 2021?

What is Global Citizenship Education?

The core idea behind Global Education is encouraging young people to be involved and engaged in shaping a better world. By thinking globally, children learn empathy and cultural diversity and they are encouraged to invent, innovate, and campaign for change. The backbone behind Global Citizenship Education are the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Attendees will go away with two key outcomes;

1.       A clear insight on how to easily embed Global Citizenship into the classroom, and

2.       A packed virtual bag, full of practical and ready to use resources.

Topics covered:

  • The what, the how and the why of   the Global Citizenship.
  • Why is it so important to teach Global Citizenship?
  • How the Sustainable Development Goals are a key, actionable part of Global Citizenship and how they can be incorporated into teaching.
  • How can I embed Global Citizenship into the curriculum?
  • Resources, ideas, activities (from A-Z) that can be taken away and used immediately in the classroom.
