The one thing we can be sure of in life is that we are all going to die. Yet we live in a culture of death denial. If we sanitise death, then we also sanitise life.
As a doctor, I work at the coalface of death. I have been privileged over the years to meet people from all walks of life who have confronted their own mortality. They gave me the courage to confront my own personal fear of death and share those insights in my bestselling book, ‘We’re All Going To Die’. I am passionate about engaging audiences with the topic of death denial as a way of overcoming the lonely experience of living in silence with grief, pain and fear. My aim is to inspire broad and positive discussion to discover how we can fully embrance life in the face of the inexorable spectre of death.
