Marathon swimming is a crazy sport on so many levels – you have to put on weight to insulate your body from the cold (yes get fat!!), contend with sharks, snakes & Loch Ness monsters and grease yourself up in foul smelling grease!
This presentation combines the humour of having to deal with these things along with a more serious side. The grueling long hours of hard work & planning behind the scenes that make a marathon dream come true; dealing with the mental swells & troughs and overcoming the moments of exhaustion, when throwing in the towel seems like the best option.
My aim is to show that no matter who you are or where you come from, achieving success is all about your mind control. In life we are in control of our how we use our potential, what we do with our time and how we invest our energy.
