Josh Nelson: Film as Text (By Request)

Session Info:

The presentation provides a detailed exploration of a requested film or media text to assist staff or students with their in-class analysis.

I will familiarise students with the various cinematic techniques used to generate meaning in the chosen text (or group of texts), drawing on carefully selected screen shots and clips as examples.

Additionally, the presentation will assist students in the application of relevant terminology used within film analysis and outline useful writing strategies that can be applied when approaching Film as Text assessment tasks.

Please note: the presentation can be tailored to the specific needs of the students or staff for the particular film text/s requested. Sessions can also be run as a professional development workshop for staff.
