A shorter but just as fun (if not “funner”!) version of Michael’s hugely successful Crash Course in Comics.
This mini workshop has been designed especially for younger budding artists and storytellers.
With step-by step guidance, children will create their own visual stories. They will experientially learn to construct a visual narrative that makes sense and to create drama.
Throughout the workshop, the children’s developing stories are examined and championed, and the session ends with their stories being read and celebrated.
The mini workshop draws on Michael’s years of expertise in comics, theatre, illustration and storyboards for film and tv. It is flexible in time and content, to suit the needs, ages and numbers of small children. But its delivery almost always includes ridiculous beasts on wildly improbable journeys and a bit of clowning.
Kids and adults get straight into creating a story with their own drawings in this fast moving introduction to the language of picture-stories. But don’t worry, no skill is required!
