Andrew McDonald: Author Talk (for Primary or Secondary)

Session Info:

Andrew McDonald is a bestselling author and an energetic presenter who has been visiting schools for over ten years.

In his author talks, Andrew uses images and storytelling to explain what sparked his love for books when he was a boy, what his creative writing process is like now, where he draws inspiration from and how he wrote the hit Real Pigeons series.

He finishes each session with a Q&A – and a group storytelling exercise that engages students and makes them think about the shapes stories take, how characters come to life, and the incredible power you have when you write.

Andrew’s author talks are great for inspiring imaginations, demonstrating the power of reading, and highlighting the value of following your passions.

Andrew is a regular presenter at schools and festivals, and has previously appeared at the Melbourne Writers Festival, the Wheeler Centre, Sydney Writers Festival, Brisbane Writers Festival and many others
