Anthony Lucas: Animation Workshop – Tricks of the Professionals

Session Info:

In this stop-motion animation workshop, Anthony will demonstrate simple animation techniques using an iPad. Exercises are tailored to year level.

Using the iPad app Stop Motion Studio, students will design and animate a face using found objects/plasticine/paper. Also students will learn how to animate actors instead of artwork (ie pixilation).

It is essential that schools provide their own iPads with Stop Motion Animation software pre-installed. For reference the one I recommend Stop Motion Studio for $0.99 at itunes store and is suitable for iPad and iPhone.

One device per groups of 2-4 persons for workshop exercises.

• How to create animated movement using actors as models [ie pixilation]
