Oslo Davis is an illustrator and cartoonist who has drawn for magazines and newspapers worldwide. As a satirist, Oslo has a particular interest in drawing the foibles and ridiculousness of modern day life.

Where were you born?

I was born near a pulp mill on the north west cost of Tasmania.

What other jobs have you had?

Cultural Attaché at the Australian Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam. Forklift driver. Kindergarten swimming instructor. Theatre director in Ahmedabad, India … The usual.

What themes are recurring in your work?

Modern day angst. Personal inadequacies. Enthusiasm that needs to be reined in.

What have been the highlights of your career?

Walkley Award finalist in 2011. My animation screening opening the St Kilda Short Film Festival at the Palais Theatre in Melbourne.

Where have your works been published?

Dozens of magazines and newspapers, including The Guardian, New York Times and the Big Issue.

What are you passionate about?

Illustration that is so witty and incisive that it that can render words useless.
