Jenna Guillaume

Jenna Guillaume is a lively and engaging author and journalist with a passion for empowering young people – and having a lot of fun along the way. She loves to talk about things like body image, social media and online toxicity, the intersection of feminism and pop culture, digital media, mental health and self-love.

Where were you born?

II was born in Sydney but I grew up in Shellharbour, on the south coast of New South Wales.

What other jobs have you had?

As a teen I put in A LOT of time in retail, but since leaving uni I’ve been working as a journalist – first in the features department at Girlfriend magazine, then as editor-at-large for BuzzFeed, and most recently as a freelancer.

What themes are recurring in your work?

Friendship, self-esteem, body positivity, family, romance, feminism, mental health, comedy, Australian culture, and bullying.

What have been the highlights of your career?

Seeing my very first book in bookstores! It’s something I’ve been working towards for a long time, and it was a totally surreal and magical experience to finally see it out there in the world.

What are you passionate about?

I’m passionate about pop culture, feminism, body positivity, the internet, kissing books, pasta, and my two very fluffy dogs.
