Erin has been sharing her zero-waste and plastic-free lifestyle on Australia’s popular eco lifestyle blog therogueginger.com since 2013. She was a consultant on ABCs War on Waste; is a regular contributor on ABC Radio, and has shared her tips for a zero-waste life with thousands at workshops, talks and forums around Australia.
Her first book Waste Not: Make a big difference by throwing away less was released July 2018, followed with Waste Not Everyday. She is currently writing her first Children’s book.
I was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and my grandmother would describe me as a southern belle.
My background is in graphic design working for big multi-national brands that ironically I’m now campaigning against in my current work as a zero-waste advocate.
The main theme of my work these days is environmental and social justice, encouraging people to slow down and think about how their choices will affect everything on this planet.
Writing the book I wish I had when I started on my zero-waste journey!
Environmental and social justice, fighting food waste, encouraging people to shop secondhand first, borrowing and hiring what we need, and of course – using less plastic.
My face pops up on TV and in print with my tips to live more gently on the planet. I’ve been featured on BBC World, The Project, Sunrise, The Morning Show, The Age, Marie Claire, Peppermint Magazine, Women’s Weekly and many many more!
