Dr Michael Nagel is an Associate Professor and the Head of Education Programs in the School of Science in Education at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Dr Nagel teaches and researches in the areas of cognition, behaviour and learning and human development and early learning.
I was born, raised and initially educated in the prairies of Canada where I learned what a ‘big’ sky really meant.
I have spent the majority of my professional life in education as a teacher, behaviour specialist and academic. Along the way I have also worked as a waiter, bartender, construction labourer, interpreter/translator, and coach.
The majority of work I do focuses on developmental aspects of childhood and enhancing all aspects of ‘schooling’ for children and teachers and child rearing for parents.
I have presented over two hundred workshops and seminars for parents and teachers nationally and internationally and am a member of the prestigious International Neuropsychological Society.
Brilliant! Engaging, humorous, insightful, thought provoking and informative.
Great combination of theory and practice.
Great presenter! Great use of humour. Kept us engaged. Could have listened to him for much longer.
On Thursday 18th August an expectant crowd gathered in the Auditorium to hear Mike Nagel explain the sometimes baffling behaviour of our children. Parents, staff, friends and students were part of this large crowd. We weren’t disappointed, over ninety minutes of breath taking information and insights that proved invaluable for every member of the audience.
