Declan has performed at the five Melbourne International Comedy Festivals, coming runner-up for best newcomer in 2003, and earning a nomination for The Age Critic's Award. In the Melbourne Fringe Festival Declan performed a solo show about his experiences as a motivational speaker, which sold out every night.
For the past three years Declan has been the senior writer for ROVE, writing and performing material on the popular Sunday night show. He has also written for The Mansion on the Comedy Channel and The Logies. He has also presented on Triple J, and hosted The Pinch, 3RRRs cult comedy show, where he interviewed some of the world's biggest comedians and performers.
As well as secondary schools, Declan has talked at a range of different events including awards nights, corporate functions, media workshops and entertainment forums, including the launch of Youth Week, and numerous youth literary festivals.
Declan's writing has appeared in numerous publications such as Beat, Inpress and The Big Issue. He also presents creative writing workshops using comedy to encourage even the most reluctant young writers to put their pens to paper.
