In 2001 he won, along with Emily Rodda, the Aurealis Award for Excellence for the Deltora Quest series and The Deltora Book of Monsters. In 2007 he wrote and illustrated World of Monsters which won the Aurealis award for best short fiction.

Marc's other work includes THE KRAKEN in 2001, written by Gary Crew, OLD RIDLEY in 2002, also written by Gary Crew and Journey from the centre of the earth, written by Isobelle Carmody. His latest book is How to draw monster battles.

Marc presents 60 minute sessions in which he speaks about the process of creating artwork, starting with the idea and using the language of art to show your ideas and how to really look at the world around us for inspiration. He explains how to put colours together and work out shadows and light effects while painting a dragon or other imaginary creature for the school to keep.

Marc can work with both primary and secondary students.
