Nicki Greenberg: Writing workshop – Getting into character

Session Info:

Imagine if you read your teacher’s diary… and discovered she was a witch! In this workshop students will explore voice, point of view, structure and pace as they write the diary of their own protagonist. Discover what makes an engaging character, and how to connect with and captivate your readers.

The workshop will kick off with a brief reading from Nicki’s diary-form illustrated novel, The Cursed First Term of Zelda Stitch – Bad Teacher. Worse Witch. We will use this book as a reference point for the diary form.

This workshop can also be adapted to include illustration as well as writing.
