Session description:

I love getting kids excited about books! In my author sessions I like to show them some of my TV segments from when I was the writer/producer of a Kids’ TV show and talk about how the job of a writer can be exciting. I share the sometimes bizarre places my ideas come from, like being thrown in jail in Africa, (Max Remy) to listening to my Nanna’s ghost stories (The Remarkable Secret of Aurelie Bonhoffen) to being angry about the government’s attitude to climate change (Grimsdon). I like creating interactive sessions where kids are guessing what may happen next, solving missions, asking questions or retelling stories of their own. All the while, learning about the writing process, gaining tips and advice for their own writing and hopefully being inspired to read.
