This workshop explores the impact of sexting on young people, their families and communities and the film Photograph will be screened.
This film and accompanying resources are produced by the CentaCare Sandhurst Loddon Mallee Cyber Safety Project, Developing Ethical Digital Citizens. It is funded by the Telstra Foundation and created by local filmmaker Jamie Roberts (Cornerstone Media) with the help of forty Bendigo teenagers. Photograph is one element of the Centacare Cyber Safety Project. The project aims to inform and to be informed by the community, so that it feels confident enough to deal with cyber issues and work as a community to develop a culture of ethical digital citizenship.
Community stakeholders, who manage the project, are committed to hearing the voices of young people and to developing resources that can be of use not only to young people but to the whole community.
While children and young people connect and communicate with each other online and via mobile phones many do so with little thought to their digital footprint. It seems they are an ‘open book’ to not only their friends but to an unknown audience which significantly impacts on their digital reputation….permanently.
