Losing It: Anosmia and life without taste and smell

Session Info:

Anosmia is a loss of taste and smell. I lost my sense of taste and smell during a head injury in late 2011. This humorous talk explores ways that this injury changed the way I eat, drink, and look at life. Ultimately the story is about one door closing, and another opening. There are illustrations by award winning cartoonist Sara Drake (USA) to accompany the talk.

Topics:

  • What is anosmia?
  • My journey through anosmia
  • My turning point
  • What I learnt about moving through difficult times
