There are many ways to find your way into creating stories. In this session, audiences will discover how to create characters as a way of sparking ideas and letting narratives evolve. Drawing on her experience as a traditional artist and story-maker Elise will create a large pen portrait of a character. The session will encompass a variety of stages from roughs and thumbnails and finding reference to creating a finished piece. While she draws, the group will brainstorm story ideas and see how those ideas affect the drawing as it progresses.
Depending on the size of the group, the session can be either interactive or a demonstration.
Demonstration artwork will be left with the group.
