David’s debut children’s picture book, The Nose Pixies, was shortlisted for Speech Pathology Australia’s 2017 Book of the Year Awards. His second picture book, My Real Friend, will be published in 2018.
Creative Kids is a one-hour workshop that encourages children from years 2 to 6 to develop their creative writing and storytelling skills.
David encourages children to tell the kind of stories that they like to read. He conducts interactive exercises that focus on the basic elements of a story, the use of descriptive and expressive language and, most importantly, imagination and creativity.
He also reads examples of his own writing for children and, if the teachers are willing, gets them to participate in telling a chain story…
Bring your pens, paper and imagination!
