With stacks of visual material and real-life examples, this session offers a behind-the-scenes look at being an author of different genres. We will delve into the fascinating world of historical fiction and the research into World War One that went into writing for the Our Australian Girl series. This will be followed by an exploration of how picture books are made, from concept to finished book, including sneak peeks at storyboarding, cover concepts and the illustration process. We finish up with time for Q&A about the challenges and triumphs of being an author, and a chance to share our love for books, writing and imagination.
