Tim Bain is a playwright and TV writer, specialising in comedy, kids and animation. His credits include Rove, Bob the Builder, Fireman Sam, Get Ace, Dennis & Gnasher and Disney’s upcoming Boyster.
I grew up in the tiny rural community of Freshwater Creek, ‘Tidy Town’ runner-up 1983.
I started out as a singing telegram gorilla, warbling off-key tunes at birthday parties, Christmas celebrations, and raucous hens nights. I had my big break into the movies when I was hired to scoop popcorn and sell choc tops at my local cinema complex.
When I was studying animation at the Victorian College of the Arts, I was lucky enough to have Eric Bana and Sigrid Thornton kindly lend their voices to a couple of my cartoon penguins.
I’ve written comedy for TV shows such as The Wedge and Rove. I’ve had four high school musicals published and performed in schools across the world. My latest, High School Spoofical, takes the mickey out of all those nauseating Disney teen movies.
